Mr. Freudenstein is a Portfolio Manager and Partner of NEXT Investors, LLC. Mr. Freudenstein previously oversaw Credit Suisse Investment Bank’s direct private investment portfolio since joining the firm in 2000. Previously, he was a Managing Director responsible for incubation and venture investments within the New World Ventures Group at the Bankers Trust Company.
Prior to Bankers Trust, he was a managing consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton and an equity research analyst at Salomon Brothers. Mr. Freudenstein earned his B.A. in Economics from John Hopkins University and M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
Mr. Grimaldi is a Portfolio Manager and Partner of NEXT Investors, LLC. Mr. Grimaldi joined Credit Suisse in 2000 and focused on making direct private equity investments within the Credit Suisse Investment Bank until 2013.
Prior to his position with Credit Suisse, Mr. Grimaldi was an associate at Insight Capital Partners, a venture capital firm, and prior to his position with Insight, he was an investment banker at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Grimaldi earned his B.S.E and B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania.
Talal Khan, CFA
Mr. Khan has been at Credit Suisse for over five years. Mr. Khan joined the NEXT team in April 2014 from the Credit Suisse Equity Research division where he covered IT hardware, networking and telecom equipment. Previously, he was a Consumer and Commercial Finance Investment/Merchant Banking Analyst at FG Advisors.
He received his CFA Certification in June 2012. Mr. Khan earned a dual BS with high honors in Finance and Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Jared Delaney-Smith, CFA
Mr. Delaney-Smith is a Vice President in NEXT Investors, LLC and has been at Credit Suisse since 2010. Mr. Delaney-Smith joined the NEXT team in April 2014 from the Credit Suisse Equity Capital Markets (“ECM”) division where he covered technology, media & telecom companies. Mr. Delaney-Smith served as the primary Credit Suisse ECM liaison for the early-stage venture capital/accelerator community based in New York.
He received his CFA certification in September 2018. Mr. Delaney-Smith earned his dual B.A. in Finance, Investments & Banking and Management & Human Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Cass Business School in London.
Nick Hrynkiewicz, CFA
Mr. Hrynkiewicz has been at Credit Suisse for over five years. Prior to joining the NEXT team in August 2015, Mr. Hrynkiewicz spent more than two years covering internet and online gaming in the Credit Suisse Equity Research division.
He received his CFA certification in September 2018. In addition to normal coverage responsibilities, he conducted due diligence on, and helped bring to market a number of Credit Suisse-led public offerings. He earned his BS in Finance from Lehigh University.

Mr. Fanzilli is an IT professional with 25+ years of executive leadership and hands-on experience. His board tenure includes PeopleSoft, Avaya, Interwoven, nLayers and several other software companies. Mr. Fanzilli currently serves as a corporate director of Commvault, Calypso, 1010data, and the Linux Foundation.
Mr. Fanzilli previously served as the Global Chief Information Officer of Credit Suisse First Boston where he was a Managing Director, a member of the Operating Committee and the IT Executive Board. Prior to joining CSFB, Mr. Fanzilli began his career in technology as an engineer with IBM, involved in operating system development and systems engineering.
Mr. Fanzilli is an occasional speaker and author on a variety of technology topics, and his articles have been featured in Businessweek Magazine, the Financial Times, the Washington Post, CIO Magazine and at prominent speaking engagements for Forrester, Gartner and other research firms.
Mr. Fanzilli holds a BS degree in Management from Fairfield University, cum laude, and an MBA in Finance from New York University, where he graduated with distinction and was the Marcus Nadler Scholar. Mr. Fanzilli is also a graduate of the Directors' College program at the Stanford University School of Law.
