Credit Suisse Appoints Doug Cliggott as US Equity Strategist

New York,  October 14, 2009 Credit Suisse is pleased to announce the appointment of Doug Cliggott as the U.S. Equity Strategist, effective immediately. In this new role, Doug will be responsible for determining and communicating Credit Suisse’s recommendations for U.S. Equity Strategy within the Equity Research department. Mr. Cliggott will be based in Boston in 2010 after working in New York for the balance of this year.

Lara Warner, Head of U.S. Equity Research, said, “We are delighted that Doug has accepted the key position of U.S. Equity Strategist. He has developed an industry-leading reputation over his 23-year career on Wall Street as a strategist on the buy-side and sell-side. His focus on the marriage of both macro and ‘bottoms-up’ sector-based analyses will be a powerful complement to our already strong U.S. Research and Equities franchise.”

Mr. Cliggott said, “I am especially pleased to be joining Credit Suisse at a time when the Bank has so much momentum. I look forward to joining the world-class Equity Research team that has helped Credit Suisse emerge as a top-tier market maker in U.S. Equities.”

Prior to that, he was an Economist and Strategist for the Zenit Fund, a long/short global equity fund at Brummer & Partners in New York.
