Head of LatAm Credit Strategy, Credit Suisse
Jamie Nicholson-Leener is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse and Head of Latin Corporate Credit Research within the Investment Banking division, based in New York. She covers Latin American industrial companies and distressed debt. Ms. Nicholson served as a member on the Managing Director Evaluation Committee (MDEC) during 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Ms. Nicholson joined Credit Suisse First Boston in November 2000 when the Firm merged with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ), where she was a Senior Vice President covering Latin American corporate credits in DLJ's High Yield Research Group.
Prior to DLJ, Ms. Nicholson worked at UBS Warburg as a Director in Latin American Equity Research. Prior to that, she was a Director at Merrill Lynch in the Latin American Investment Banking Group. Ms. Nicholson worked at Lehman Brothers from 1986 to 1994.
Ms. Nicholson has been involved in emerging markets for more than 20 years through her career as an investment banker, equity analyst and corporate credit analyst. She has consistently been ranked on Institutional Investor's All-America Fixed Income Research Team for Emerging Markets Corporate Debt (Top 3 ranking since 2001 and ranked #2 for LatAm Corporate Credit Research in 2009). While a LatAm equity analyst, she was ranked #1 by Latin Finance for her coverage of the steel industry.
Ms. Nicholson holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from Yale, where she was the Dickerman Prize winner in Economics. She studied for an M.A. in Development Economics at the University of Dakar as a Rotary Fellow.
