Tanguy Y. Seiwert, MD, is a Physician and Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Hematology & Oncology at the University of Chicago. Dr. Seiwert studies head and neck and non-small cell lung cancer, and is involved in clinical trials in these diseases. He has a strong translational science background for targeted therapies such as kinase inhibitors (EGFR, MET) as well as immunotherapies with detailed background knowledge including mechanistic understanding and implications for clinical trials & patient populations. He has an understanding of biomarkers, and the respective technologies employed to identify target populations of patients. Dr. Seiwert received his Medical Degree from Johannes Gutenberg University, followed by internal medicine residency at Duke University (NC), and Hematology & Oncology Fellowship at the University of Chicago. He is now an Attending Physicians and program leader at the University of Chicago, with an association with the Institute for Genomics for Cancer Profiling. He has extensive research experience and is an academic physician-scientist.
