MD: Cystic Fibrosis
Rubin Cohen, MD, is professor of medicine at the Hofstra-North Shore LIJ School of Medicine and Director of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis and Bronchiectasis Center. This center is a referral center for both CF and non-CF bronchiectasis. The center is a member of the CF Foundation Therapeutic Development Network and participates in several clinical trials in CF. Dr. Cohen has expertise in critical care focusing on septic shock, multi-organ dysfunction and treatment of septic shock. Dr. Cohen is also Director of the Asthma Center, one of 18-nationally recognized asthma centers partially funded by the American Lung Association for the purpose of conducting clinical research in asthma. He is member of the steering committee for American Lung Association-Asthma Clinical Research Centers (ALA-ACRC) and has conducted multiple clinical trials in asthma. He is past Chair of the Airways Disorder Network of American College of Chest Physicians. Dr Cohen has recently completed Masters requirements in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety at the University of Toronto.
