Can children 14-18 attend? 

There are no planned activities or volunteer opportunities older children.  With your manager’s approval, you are welcome to have your 14-18 year old shadow you for the day. 

What is this day all about: 

What is this day all about? This day focuses on expanding future opportunities for all our children, in both their work and family lives. In this way, we can better address the needs of girls and boys, to change perceptions and bring forth better integration of work-family responsibilities and opportunities. By engaging whole communities - families, schools, media and employers - Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day involve all the players in this unique educational experience. Last year, nearly 250 children visited Credit Suisse for an exciting and educational day. 

What will my child (ages 8-12) be doing? 

In an effort to give the children a more meaningful experience, each child will job shadow his/her parent for the first portion of the day. The afternoon session will include interactive group activities in the OMA Auditorium. 
Please note that no childcare will be provided in the morning. All children must be accompanied by parents until the 12:30 pm session.

Can My Child Miss School on That Day? 

Most schools are supportive of this program. Contact your child's teacher and principal in advance of Take Our Daughters & Sons to Work Day to let them know that he/she will be attending activities at your workplace. Most schools will authorize the absence as an "excused absence" to allow him/her to attend. We will also provide a permission/release form in the Parent Package which you'll receive prior to the event. 

Why This Date? 

The Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Foundation designated the fourth Thursday in April as the national Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. By sticking to a national date, the organization hopes that communities and schools can work together to create a dynamic interaction between the workplace and the classroom. And by participating on the official date of the program, a child recognizes that he/she is one of millions of children who are helping shape the future. 

How Will I Know If My Daughter or Son is Registered? 

Participation is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once your registration is confirmed, all parents will receive a Credit Suisse Parent Package, electronically, confirming their child's team, agenda and school release form. 

What Is The Appropriate Attire? 

As a parent, we'll leave this up to you. A guideline may be whatever your daughter or son would typically wear to school. Some children may feel a bit more comfortable dressing up a bit since they are going to their parent's or guardian's office for the day. 

Can My Niece, Nephew, Granddaughter, Grandson, Neighbor or Friend Participate? 

We wish we could accommodate everyone, but unfortunately, and due to the number of growing participants yearly, we are unable to provide a quality program when the group gets too large. 

*This event is only open to children of Credit Suisse employees.  Due to space constraints, we cannot accommodate children of consultants or contractors.  We apologize for any inconvenience.
