Head of Credit Strategies, Aksia
Patrick has over 19 years of financial markets experience including 17 years focused on research and investment management. As the Head of Credit Strategies, he oversees sourcing, research, and risk management for private credit, public credit and event driven investments. Patrick oversaw the creation of Aksia’s private credit business and has worked closely with the institutional investor community to increase acceptance of private credit as an asset class. He serves on the Private Credit & Opportunistic Investment Committee, is a member of the Portfolio Strategies Committee and is a non-voting member on the Risk Committee.
Prior to becoming a Partner of Aksia in 2006, Patrick spent six years at Credit Suisse, where he managed event driven and fixed income emerging markets investments and served on the Hedge Fund Investment Group Investment Committee. He started his career in 1997, focusing on consumer credit at Capital One Financial Corporation, including a post in Johannesburg to form a joint venture with Nedcor, one of South Africa’s largest commercial and investment banks.
Patrick graduated cum laude from the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology at the University of Pennsylvania, contemporaneously earning a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School and a B.A.S. in Systems Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science. He is a mentor at TechStars, a leading global venture capital accelerator.
