Credit Suisse is proud to partner the planned new football stadium in Zurich, the Credit Suisse Arena.
The Credit Suisse Arena, a football stadium specifically designed for this sport, is to be built in the Zurich West neighborhood. This project means that the city of Zurich will have a football stadium that is convincing in terms of urban development and economically acceptable to all those involved, and that meets the criteria of sustainability and functionality. The Credit Suisse Arena will be built in almost the same position as the stadium that was constructed in Zurich West in 1929 and demolished in 2008. The Credit Suisse Arena will be a location that is fit to continue making footballing history, a place representing the tradition and the identity of football in Zurich and Switzerland.
All the championship games of Fussballclub Zürich and Grasshopper Club Zürich will be contested in the Credit Suisse Arena. In addition, friendly matches, the Swiss national football teams' matches, international matches, and selected women's football matches will also be played there.
The new arena will open up new sources of income for the two Zurich city football clubs that would not be possible without the new stadium. The promotion of young talent will also benefit, something that has been very important to Credit Suisse for many years.
A good environment is essential for football so that outstanding athletic performances can be achieved at all levels. Through the partnership in connection with the Credit Suisse Arena, Credit Suisse will partner the two Zurich football clubs FC Zürich and Grasshopper Club Zürich starting from the 2019/2020 season. This means that Credit Suisse will be the two clubs' Arena Partner and thus visually present at their matches on advertising boardings, among other things.
Acquiring the rights to the name represents a strong commitment to the sport and to Zurich, and a further expansion of the bank's commitment to Swiss football, which Credit Suisse has developed through over 25 years of collaboration with the Swiss Football Association.
Even if there are still a few hurdles to overcome before the starting whistle, we can start looking forward to the new stadium and the first match in the Credit Suisse Arena!
The current schedule envisages that the Credit Suisse Arena will be completed for the start of the 2022/2023 season.
