Jim Hawkins

Global Head of School Heads and Vice Chancellor, Whittle School and Studios


Jim Hawkins is the Global Head of School Heads and Vice Chancellor at Whittle School & Studios. Prior to this, Mr. Hawkins was Head Master of Harrow School in London in the UK, a role he held since 2011. Harrow School is one of the world’s great learning institutions and boarding schools, with over four hundred years of history. Prior to joining Harrow School, he was Head Master of Norwich School since 2002.

Mr. Hawkins studied Mathematics at Brasenose College, Oxford University, where he also completed his teaching qualification. He then taught at Radley College before being appointed Head of Mathematics at Forest School and subsequently Deputy Head of Chigwell School. 

Mr. Hawkins has held several state and independent school governorships and was Vice-President (Europe) of the International Boys’ Schools Coalition. His sporting interests include rowing, rugby, soccer and basketball, all of which he has coached.
