Chief Investment Officer, Zaaba Capital
Mr. Mohan Rajasooria is the Chief Investment Officer of Zaaba Capital. Prior to Zaaba, Mr. Rajasooria was one of the founding partners at Azentus Capital, an Asian multi-strategy hedge fund specializing in equity long-short, credit and event investments based in Hong Kong. At Azentus, Mr. Rajasooria was responsible for global financials, credit, ASEAN and India investments. Prior to Azentus, Mr. Rajasooria was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong and Singapore, as part of Goldman's Principal Strategies Group ("GSPS").
At Goldman, Mr. Rajasooria was responsible for GSPS' Capital Structure Arbitrage activities in Asia, and helped manage GSPS' equity long-short business in Asia. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Mr. Rajasooria was a Director of Investments at Khazanah Nasional, Malaysia's Sovereign Wealth Fund in Kuala Lumpur. Mr. Rajasooria was part of Khazanah's senior investments leadership team.
Mr. Rajasooria was also responsible for leading the development of Khazanah's Government Linked Company transformation program, and was a board member of Infrastructure Development Finance Company (India-listed "IDFC") and SilTerra Malaysia (wafer foundry). Prior to Khazanah, Mr. Rajasooria was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company in Kuala Lumpur.
At McKinsey, he was responsible for leading 5-20 person McKinsey and client teams. His experience ranged across most major Asian geographies and Europe, and across sectors, with a focus on financials & corporate finance. Mr. Rajasooria received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 2002. Mr. Rajasooria received a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College in London in 1997, and was awarded the Frank-Turner Wilson prize for the best overall student that year.
