Laura M. Cha

Mrs. Laura M. Cha is a member of the Executive Council of the Government of Hong Kong, Chairman of the Financial Services Development Council, Hong Kong, a Non-Executive Director of HSBC Holdings plc., Non-Executive Deputy Chairman of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation and a Non-Executive Director of China Telecom Corporation Limited and Unilever plc. She is also a Senior International Advisor of Foundation Assets Management AB, and a member of Sotheby's International Advisory Board.
Mrs. Cha has previously served as Independent Non-Executive Director of Johnson Electric Holdings Limited (2004-2009); Baoshan Iron & Steel Co Ltd (2006-2009), Tata Consultancy Services Limited (2006-2012) and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (2008-2011).
Mrs. Cha became the first person outside the Mainland China to join the Central Government at the vice-ministerial rank in January 2001 when she was appointed as Vice Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). She served in such capacity until September 2004. Mrs. Cha was Deputy Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission in Hong Kong where she worked from 1991 to 2000.
Mrs. Cha is also a Hong Kong Delegate to the 12th National People's Congress of China, and Vice Chairman of the International Advisory Council of CSRC, and a member of the International Advisory Council of the China Banking's Regulatory Commission.
