Chief Investment Officer, Trikon Asset Management
Gaurav Grover is the Chief Investment Officer of Trikon Asset Management, which he established in 2018. He has been investing for almost twenty years, with the last fifteen focusing on Asian public markets.
Mr. Grover began his career in 1997 in Investment Banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ). After a year, he joined DLJ’s Merchant Banking Group, working on private equity transactions. After DLJ, he joined Silver Lake, where he was the third Investment Professional hired at launch. Mr. Grover was focused on transactions in technology and related growth industries. After one year, he was promoted directly from Associate to Principal. During his time at Silver Lake, he received an MBA from Harvard Business School and had a summer internship in the Goldman Sachs Principal Strategies Group in Hong Kong.
Mr. Grover began to invest in Asian public equities in earnest in 2004 and was one of the early Investment Professionals hired at TPG-Axon Capital in Hong Kong at launch. He went on to manage many portions of the firm’s Asian investment portfolio as well as its global technology portfolio. In 2010, Mr. Grover left TPG-Axon to help Moore Capital establish and manage its Asia presence in Hong Kong. Mr. Grover was a Senior Portfolio Manager, Managing Director – Asia and Responsible Officer for Moore’s Hong Kong entity. Mr. Grover helped establish the office, recruit an Asian equities team and manage the firm’s Pan Asian long-short equities portfolio based in Asia.
