Santitarn Sathirathai is the Head of Emerging Asia Economics at Credit Suisse based in Singapore. In addition to his specialisation in ASEAN economies, he is also responsible for conducting Pan-Asia thematic economic research. He won the best economic forecaster award for Indonesia by Consensus Economics for three consecutive years (2015, 2014 and 2013), ranked first for Thailand macroeconomics in Asia Money (2015), and is a member of Credit Suisse's Thailand and Malaysia research teams that have ranked in the top two in Institutional Investor surveys. Santitarn holds a PhD in Public Policy and Master in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Santitarn worked at Thailand's Ministry of Finance and the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), and taught macroeconomic courses at the Faculty of Economics at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. He speaks regularly at academic and policy conferences and on the media (CNBC, BBC, and Bloomberg among others), and his research has been cited by the Financial Times, the Economist, and other leading global and local newspapers.
