Chief Economist, Credit Suisse
James Sweeney is a Managing Director, the Chief Economist for Credit Suisse, and Regional CIO Americas for the International Wealth Management division, based in New York.
Prior to that, he was the Chief Economist for Global Markets Research and the Head of Global Fixed Income and Economic Research. Mr. Sweeney is a member of the Americas Pension Investment Committee. He joined Credit Suisse in 2000, having previously worked as a political speechwriter.
Mr. Sweeney holds an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and a BS magna cum laude from Florida State University. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Economic Club of New York, and is a John C. Whitehead Fellow of the Foreign Policy Association.
