Andrew Garthwaite is a Managing Director and Global Equity Strategist at Credit Suisse in the Investment Banking Division, and based in London. He is also responsible for co-ordinating global, regional and sector strategy as well as European sector/country strategy. Andrew joined Credit Suisse First Boston in September 2000. Prior to that position, he worked for Warburgs (SG, SBC, WDR, which then all became UBS) from 1988 to 2000, where he was involved in a variety of roles, including Head of Asset Allocation and Global Equity Strategy. Between 1984 and 1988, he was an economist at Morgan Grenfell and Co, and worked briefly for Morgan Grenfell Government Securities. He has been ranked Top 3 by either Extel or Institutional Investor in almost every year since 1990, and in the 2016 edition of Institutional Investor, Andrew was highlighted as one of the Top 20 'most mentioned' analysts of all time. Andrew holds a degree in Economics and Economic History from Bristol University.
