China’s 19th Party congress in the autumn of 2017 is expected to bring a sweeping transition of political changes. Speculation is rife that President Xi and Premier Li Keqiang have divergent views. Combined with a number of top and mid/high-level positions in party, government and military that are expected to change, there will likely be a significant effect on Chinese economic policy. Our panel of Chinese political commentators will discuss China’s current political situation and the outlook for political change in the country.
