Under its aggressive investment strategy that aims to back startups using technology to disrupt industries, it has taken stakes in scores of companies through its massive $100-billion Vision Fund, the largest technology investment fund in the world. Thanks to its headline-making investments in a wide range of fields, including AI (Artificial Intelligence), IoT (Internet of Things), robotics and e-commerce, SoftBank has become renowned for spotting emerging technologies and creating giants in the technology world. The group’s ambitious approach to driving the information revolution and turning innovative ideas into reality appears to be bearing fruit.
