Under Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s tenure, Japan has beaten deflation and now enjoys steady GDP growth and a strong labor market. Yet plenty of challenges remain for what is, demographically speaking, the world’s oldest nation. Tomomi Inada will discuss what Abenomics has achieved and what it is yet to accomplish – including the need to improve Japan’s fiscal position to curb economic risk. Additionally, as the former minister in charge of regulatory reform, she will talk about government support for better corporate governance.
