China – what new economic reform initiatives will emerge?

What will be the major characteristics of the new administration in China, with Mr. Liu He, a renowned economist, likely to become the Deputy Prime Minister responsible for finance and economy in the State Council? The government has laid down three major objectives for the next three years: 1) prevention of financial system risks; 2) poverty alleviation and 3) environmental protection. What reform initiatives will China will undertake to achieve these tasks? Some reforms such as state-owned enterprise (SOE) reform and rural land reform have stalled in the last few years; will they be re-started under the new administration? Baoliang Zhu, Director of Economic Forecasting at the State Information Center, a think tank affiliated with China's economic planning agency, will share his views.
