Ping Xie is a Professor at the People’s Bank of China School of Finance, Tsinghua University.
Prof. Xie was also Executive Vice President of China Investment Corporation (CIC) from 2007 to 2015, where he was in charge of Private Equity Investment and Direct Investment.
From 2005 to 2007, Prof. Xie was President of Central Huijin Investment Limited, which is now the domestic arm of CIC. Prior to that, he worked in the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) for 20 years and held a number of senior positions, including Director General of the Financial Stability Department, Director General of the Research Bureau, President of the Hunan branch of the PBOC, Director General of the Non-Banking Supervision Department, and Deputy Director General of the Policy Research Office.
Prof. Xie holds a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Renmin University of China. He won the Sun Ye Fung Prize four times in 1995, 2001, 2005 and 2014 – an award which is a top honor in China for economic research.
