Boqiang Lin

Boqiang Lin is a 2007 "Chang Jiang Scholar" Distinguished Professor and Dean of the China Institute for Studies in Energy Policy, School of Management, Xiamen University.

Dr. Lin obtained his Ph. D. degree in Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara. His current research and teaching areas include energy economics and energy policy.

Dr. Lin is also Editor for Energy Economics. He is a member of the National Energy Consultation Committee under the National Energy Commission and a member of the National Energy Price Consultation Committee under the National Development and Reform Commission.

Internationally, Dr. Lin serves as an executive committee member of the World Economic Forum's (WEF) Board of Stewards on Future of Energy based in Davos, Switzerland. He was also Chairman of WEF's Global Agenda Councils on energy security. He is in the advisory boards of several global projects initiated by the WEF including the Global Battery Alliance, the Fostering Effective Energy Transition report, and the Accelerating Sustainable Energy Innovation whitepaper. He has been invited to participate at the WEF's annual meeting for 11 consecutive years since 2011.

Dr. Lin has published over 550 academic papers in international and domestic energy and economics journals. He was named a highly cited researcher by Web of Science and Elsevier for several years. He is also co-author of several textbooks including Elementary Energy Economics, Advanced Energy Economics and Energy Finance. He has contributed around 60 commentaries each year to top-tier mainstream newspapers in China. He is also a regular speaker for China Central TV and China National Radio and has garnered strong media coverage in China on energy related issues.
