Meet Anna
Title: Vice President,
Business Area: Technology (IT)
Location: Wroclaw, Poland
Joined Credit Suisse: October 2012

Growing up, my dream was to be an architect, but I found my way to computer science and completed my Master's degree at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. Computer science has changed a lot since then; I remember studying Logo, an old computer language, and transferring information using tapes.

A recruiter contacted me about a position at Credit Suisse. At the time, I was an IT Service Desk Manager for an auto manufacturerwhere I had been for a decade. I was not looking for a new job, but I decided to learn more about the position. I was drawn to the challenge: Credit Suisse planned to move all of its service desks to Poland, and it was an ambitious plan. We built the team from scratch, from two specialists to nearly 90 people three years later.

In 2015, I took advantage of Credit Suisse's internal mobility to move to a different position. Now, I am the Client Relationship Manager and Service Delivery Manager for Remote Desktop Services. I wear many hats, but my primary focus has been on defining the operating model for the support services we provide to Credit Suisse employees globally. As Client Relationship Manager, I am in touch with our Corporate Functions in London to explain new initiatives and make sure everyone is getting the IT support they need.

The best motivation is when I see progress around me, such as when a project moves to the next phase or when a planned initiative becomes a reality. Even more exciting is when you see that your work may positively influence your clients or improve your coworkers' business lives.

Every day is a little different. I come to the office, meet people, make decisions and put ideas into production. We solve problems and sometimes we find problems. Under my new role, which is project-based, I have the option of working from home from time to time, and more flexibility about my working hours. Sometimes I work longer hours to deliver on a project and sometimes I leave early.

When I'm not working, I love to read books, especially murder mysteries. I'll do anything with my hands: I paint, I sew and I renovate furniture. My latest passion is my garden. We moved to a new house and there was a field with nothing on it, so I had to create my garden from scratch.
