Nili Gilbert

Co-Founder and Portfolio Manager, Matarin Capital Management

Nili Gilbert is Co-Founder and Portfolio Manager of Matarin Capital, managing equity strategies for institutional clients. Matarin has been recognized as a performance leader and as a thought leader, with its research cited in such publications as The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s. Nili is a regular contributor on CNBC and Bloomberg television, as well.

Nili is a Board Member and Chairwoman of the Investment Committees of the David Rockefeller Fund and the Synergos Institute. She is both a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a member of the Economic Club of New York.

Nili has been honored as a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, as a LinkedIn TopVoice for 2019, on Bloomberg BusinessWeek’s list of 20 people who are “Ones to Watch” for 2019, as Entrepreneur of the Year by the National Association of Securities Professionals, with the Toigo Foundation’s Bridge to Business Award, and by 100 Women in Hedge Funds as a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Scholar.

Nili received her BA from Harvard University, graduating magna cum laude in a Special Concentration in Economics and Social Studies, and her MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School, where she was a Toigo Fellow.  She is both a CFA and CAIA Charterholder.

Prior to founding Matarin, she was Senior Director and Senior Research Analyst at Invesco, working in both New York City and Frankfurt, Germany, with responsibility for development of the firm’s global multi-asset models.

A native New Yorker, Nili speaks, reads, and writes both German and French with great proficiency, and enjoys travel and fitness.

Pam Holding

Co-Head of Equity Division, Fidelity Investments

Pam Holding is co-head of Fidelity Investments’ Equity Division. Pam and Tim Cohen, the other co-head of Fidelity’s Equity Division, oversee all of Fidelity’s Equity portfolio managers, research analysts and trading teams. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to institutions, financial intermediaries, and individuals.

Prior to assuming her current position, Ms. Holding served as chief investment officer at Fidelity Institutional Asset Management (FIAM), an investment organization within Fidelity Investments’ asset management division that is dedicated to serving the needs of consultants and institutional investors, such as defined benefit and defined contribution plans, endowments and financial advisors. In this role, Ms. Holding was responsible for FIAM’s equity portfolio management, investment research, and risk management functions. 

Before joining Fidelity in 2013, Ms. Holding served as chief investment officer and senior portfolio manager on the Global Value Equities team at Putnam Investments. Previously, she was head of European and International Equity Research in Putnam’s London office and held several fixed income research and research management positions. Ms. Holding also served as a senior high-yield bond analyst at Kemper Financial Services. She has been in the financial industry since 1986. 

Ms. Holding earned her bachelor of arts degree from Princeton University and her master of business administration degree from Harvard Business School. Additionally, she serves on The Board of the Steppingstone Foundation and Board of Overseers at the New England Aquarium.

Anne Mathias

Rates & FX Strategist, Vanguard Fixed Income Group

Anne Mathias is the Rates & FX Strategist in the Vanguard Fixed Income Group, with a focus on global macro, interest rates, and foreign currency. She is a member of the 6-person investment committee (the “Hub”) for the active taxable fixed income funds. She is responsible for analyzing interest rates, currency valuations, economic developments, and political risks and making longer-term strategic investments in sovereign bonds and foreign currencies across Vanguard’s active fixed income funds. 

Before joining Vanguard in 2017, Ms. Mathias was the senior macro strategist for Guggenheim Partners Investment Management in Los Angeles, working alongside the firm’s Chief Investment Officer. She also spent an earlier part of her career on the sell side as research director and corporate tax policy analyst for an Institutional Investor ranked Washington Research team. Ms. Mathias spent the first part of her career in emerging markets private equity investing and emerging markets management consulting. 

Ms. Mathias earned a B.A. from the University of Maryland and an M.S. in international affairs from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. She is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia and the CFA Institute. 

Kelley Morrell

Managing Director, Head of Asset Management in the Tactical Opportunities Group, Blackstone

Kelley Morrell is a Managing Director and Head of Asset Management in the Tactical Opportunities group. In this role, she oversees a global team and is involved in the ongoing management and oversight of the group’s investment portfolio, as well as creating and driving value-added initiatives alongside the investment team.

Before joining Blackstone in 2017, Ms. Morrell served as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at CIT Group, and was a member of the Executive Management Committee. At CIT, she helped shape the company’s strategic direction following its emergence from bankruptcy, and led numerous strategic transactions in the commercial and consumer finance sectors that contributed to CIT’s transformation to a bank. Prior to that, Ms. Morrell served as senior director of the U.S. Treasury’s Automotive Industry Financing Program during the Obama Administration, where she had primary responsibility of overseeing the taxpayers’ investments in Chrysler Financial and Chrysler Group. Ms. Morrell previously worked as an Associate at Hellman & Friedman where she was involved in the evaluation and execution of private equity transactions, and in investment banking at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in its Financial Institutions Group.

Co-anchor of “Bloomberg Markets: America” and “Bloomberg Markets: European Close”, Anchor of “Bloomberg Commodities Edge” 

Alix Steel co-anchors “Bloomberg Markets: America” from 10am-11am EST and “Bloomberg Markets: European Close” from 11am-12pm EST. Steel also anchors the weekly show “Bloomberg Commodities Edge,” a thirty minute program dedicated to the biggest names and news in the commodity world.

Steel has interviewed numerous influential business leaders including Sam Zell, Ken Langone, Gary Cohn, Lloyd Blankfein, James Gorman, Lynn Good of Duke Energy, and most oil and gas CEOs in the business.

Prior to joining Bloomberg in February 2012, Steel was a senior multimedia reporter, anchor, and producer for TheStreet, where she focused on global markets. Steel also co-anchored a live trading show, “Morning Call,” for TheStreet and T3Live.com. She is a multiple SABEW Award nominee. 

Steel graduated cum laude from Northwestern University, earning her bachelor’s degree in Communications, and has studied business journalism at New York University.
