How long does it take for the new SecurID number to be displayed?

You receive a new SecurID number every minute.

What happens if I enter the wrong SecurID number, or one that's already been used?

You can further increase security by using a restricted user profile (without administrator rights) when surfing the internet and accessing online banking. You can create a restricted profile under "Start" → "Control Panel" → "User Accounts" → "Create new account" → "Restricted" → Open "Create account" (Windows XP).

I already have my own anti-virus software, firewall and the latest operating system. Why then do I still need this new security function?

Using anti-virus software and a firewall in combination with the latest operating system means your PC is well-protected. Make sure that the programs you use are always up-to-date. This will help prevent computer viruses and Trojan horses from infecting your PC, and will play a key role in ensuring online banking is more secure.
This security measure (second identification) allows us to further increase your online banking security and protect you against fraudulent payment transactions (e.g. phishing).
