Commitments in EMEA
Credit Suisse supports partners across Europe, the Middle East and Africa in places where we have a presence. Project support focuses on education and employability, and financial investments through the Credit Suisse EMEA Foundation are leveraged by our employees lending their skills and expertise.
Credit Suisse supports a range of initiatives across Europe, the Middle East and South Africa and is committed to improving the communities where we work. As part of that pledge to corporate citizenship, Credit Suisse partners with a select group of charities. Collaboratively, we are making a positive impact on individual lives resulting in stronger communities. In addition to grants made through the Credit Suisse EMEA Foundation, we also encourage our employees to become active volunteers and donors through a variety of schemes including our Charity of the Year and various employability and mentoring programs.
Education is a key focus for Corporate Citizenship's volunteer initiatives and the charitable partnerships funded through the Credit Suisse EMEA Foundation. Our programs and initiatives focus on improving the educational attainment, aspirations and employability of young disadvantaged people.
The Microfinance Capacity Building Initiative's projects in the region include, among others, Opportunity International 's e-wallet strategy and Next Generation Bankers training in Africa, Swisscontact's microleasing and youth entrepreneurship programs in East and South Africa, as well as product development with Women's World Banking in Jordan, Egypt and Nigeria. In addition to financial support, Credit Suisse provides employee expertise and know-how through its internal Microfinance Advocates Network, the Credit Suisse Virtual Volunteers and the Global Citizens Program.
Employees are encouraged to support our local communities by donating their time and skills to initiatives and projects run by our partner organizations. Active charity committees across many divisions and countries help to coordinate these efforts at a local level.
The Credit Suisse EMEA Foundation makes grants to a variety of projects and programs that help address the social and educational needs of disadvantaged people across Europe, the Middle East and Africa in places where Credit Suisse has a presence. In an effort to maximize the effectiveness of our grant making we collaborate with a small number of charities and provide strategic, multiyear partnerships.
Corporate Citizenship EMEA has partnerships with many local and regional organizations to support our education and employee engagement activities.
