Corporate Citizenship

At Credit Suisse, we strive to incorporate our approach to corporate responsibility into every aspect of our work. Our approach is founded on a broad understanding of the concept of corporate citizenship, which encompasses the areas of banking, society and the environment, as well as our role as an employer and our dialogue with all our stakeholders.

Credit Suisse has been sole sponsor of the Guernsey Symphony Orchestra since 1992. It was founded with the aim of developing orchestral music in all its forms for the benefit and advancement of musicians and the appreciation and enjoyment of audiences. More details can be found on

In 2014 Credit Suisse will support Jersey Heritage with its sponsorship of the Voices of the Great War’ exhibition at Jersey Museum & Art Gallery, St Helier, between August and November. More details can be found on

Credit Suisse is committed to operating in a sustainable manner. In our Guernsey Helvetia Court offices' the environmentally-friendly refrigerant system and state-of-the-art motion detection lighting system installed in 2012/2013 allow us to leverage the most energy efficient plan, reducing our environmental impact and costs.

We also have a long-established waste management policy with all available waste streams (glass, plastics, paper, metal, cardboard, electrical) separated for on and off-island recycling.

Our staff select one Channel Island charity each year to support financially and practically. In 2014 we are supporting Channel Islands Air Search, a voluntary organisation providing a rapid response airborne search and rescue service in local waters. The service operates a 24-hour, 365 day service in all weathers.

In 2013 our staff raised £12,000 for MUG, a Guernsey-based charity that aims to raise awareness of male cancers. Funds will be used in the research into testing, cures and treatments in the areas of prostate, bowel and testicular cancer.

In 2012 our staff raised more than £14,000 for the Channel Islands' lifeboat charity, the RNLI.
As part of the Credit Suisse Group initiative that allows staff to work in their local communities, we are also a member of the Every Child our Future charity, which was created to support initiatives to improve both literacy and numeracy skills in Guernsey.

Credit Suisse also supports various other community initiatives such as Liberation Day and the annual Guernsey Air Display.
