"The Figurative Pollock" – Credit Suisse Is Giving Away 1,000 Tickets to the Exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Basel
From October 2, 2016 through January 22, 2017, great works of art in all formats will be on display at the Kunstmuseum Basel. The special exhibition "The Figurative Pollock" curated by Nina Zimmer shows a previously little-known aspect of the famous American artist, who came to international prominence mainly thanks to his large-scale drip paintings.
On closer inspection, Pollock's work displays a figurative thread that runs through almost his entire oeuvre. The exhibition brings this continuity to light and makes it easy for observers to follow the developments in his artistic work.
Yes, this is an exciting exhibition, and the Kunstmuseum Basel is using the tailor-made spaces of its new building, which opened in the spring, to ring in a new era in its history with attractive temporary exhibitions and presentations of its collection. This is made clear by Josef Helfenstein, who assumed his position as Director of the Kunstmuseum on September 1, 2016, in the foreword to the current program. He regards himself not just as a director, but also as a host, who wants to make his museum accessible to everyone as a place of cultural encounter.
In order to support this approach and enable as many people in Basel to share in this wonderful exhibition, Credit Suisse, as a partner of the Kunstmuseum and sponsor of the exhibition "The Figurative Pollock," decided to launch a special offer. As Oliver Zwemmer, Head of Region Northern Switzerland at Credit Suisse, announced at the press conference for the opening of the exhibition, Credit Suisse is giving away around 1,000 tickets to the general public at its branches in the Basel region. If you're quick, you'll get free admission to the Pollock exhibition!
