This year, we are supporting the exhibition "Pastels from the 16th to the 21st Century Liotard, Degas, Klee, Scully ..." The exhibition opened on February 2 and will run until May 21, 2018. In a unique selection of works, the Fondation de l'Hermitage offers you an exclusive encounter with the splendor of pastels. It is a medium that provides much scope for experimentation and combines the power of pure color with grace.

A fascinating medium halfway between drawing and painting. The exhibition pays tribute to works from the golden age of 18th century portraiture, but 19th century landscapes and the virtuosity of impressionist figure drawing were also rendered in pastels. Time and again over many centuries, artists of different eras have always been inspired to produce passionate work in pastels, and still are today.

You can admire works by Liotard, Degas, Manet, Giacometti, Segantini, Klee, Picasso, and many others. They all loved working with pastels. Take time to immerse yourself in the diversity of the artworks, and don't miss the mural that was specially created for this exhibition by the young Swiss artist Nicolas Party.

And we would like to invite you to visit this unique exhibition.
