Interview with Gabriel Täschler
Junior Recruiting Partner
What do you love most about your job?
Gabriel Täschler: As a Junior Recruiting Partner there are a lot of things I love, but the main thing is the people. Throughout my time in HR I've had the opportunity to meet so many different people – from across our organization, but also from elsewhere. Every hire is different. Supporting everyone on their unique journey brings me particular joy: to see how everything works out in the end, how different people complement each other's talents and to know I was able to act as a sparring partner for them.
What would you consider your most significant career move?
Gabriel Täschler: I began my career at Credit Suisse with a 4-year Information Technology apprenticeship. After this, I applied for a job in Payroll and Benefits, which was a totally different area. Switching divisions was a risky move – I didn't have any experience in that field, but the apprenticeship experience and discussions with supportive colleagues helped me see it was the right one. Thankfully, I was given the opportunity to start in this department – taking that step was my most significant career decision so far.
What is it like working for Credit Suisse from home?
Gabriel Täschler: In the beginning, it felt strange as I was new to home working, but I quickly adjusted to it. It was incredible to see how fast our company changed from office-based to working from home. As it was a new situation for everybody, we had to find innovative ways to stay in touch. For example, our team started a 'Team-Lunch' group chat so we could all share a part of our day together.
