Interview with Mica Wilson
IB Client Marketing and Engagement
New York, USA

What is your role? What do you love most about your job?
While I wear multiple hats at Credit Suisse, my official title is Head of Investment Banking Client Marketing and Engagement. I am also the Chief Operating Officer for Corporate Insights, Key Account Management Americas and EMEA. I enjoy all of these roles because they allow me to interact with different people within areas of the bank on very different projects and challenges. I especially love when my jobs intersect. For example, Corporate Insights produces white papers on various topics with important content that highlights to our clients where the firm adds value and has expertise. I help the team to develop a marketing plan to get as much visibility as possible for the paper with internal stakeholders as well as current and potential clients. This process allows me to work with the team in a different capacity and add value beyond my COO role.
How do you approach your client interaction?
I am so glad to be back in the office. The ability to collaborate in-person really makes a difference. Fiona Hetzner, Director IB Client Marketing and Engagement, and I regularly brainstorm on ways we can engage our clients and bring them unique and bespoke events. We are excited to work with our business partners who would like to bring our innovative concepts and ideas to life in 2022.
Why did you decide a career at Credit Suisse was right for you?
I have worked for several organizations in the for-profit (PepsiCo, HBO, Citigroup) and non-profit space (Girl Scout of the USA, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society). I was ready to utilize my knowledge and expertise in an organization that would appreciate an experienced professional. My friend of over 30 years, SoVonna Day-Goins, has been talking to me about Credit Suisse for many years. The timing felt right and SoVonna introduced me to Amy Clack, Chief Strategy Officer. After my conversation with Amy, I knew this was a place that would value what I bring to the table. Almost a year later, and I am confident coming to Credit Suisse was the best career decision for me.
