Credit Suisse has been present in Turkey since 1998 when the Bank opened a branch of CSFB Zurich and a Credit Suisse Zurich Representative Office. In 2007, the Bank established a local broker/dealer firm, Credit Suisse Istanbul Menkul Degerler A.S. (CSMID), regulated by Capital Markets Board of Turkey.
Today, Credit Suisse Turkey operates out of Credit Suisse AG Representative Office and CSMID and employs more than 35 bankers locally. CSMID is a leading equity brokerage and research house which has a broker dealer license on the Istanbul Stock Exchange and Turkish Derivatives Exchange.
Credit Suisse also holds an Investment Advisory, Initial Public Offering, Portfolio Management, and Lending, Borrowing and Margin Trading Licenses for investment banking and fixed income activities from the Capital Markets Board of Turkey. Credit Suisse Turkey also offers wide range of Direct Market Access to Turkish Stock exchange (IMKB) and Futures VOB markets including Algorithmic trading platforms. Credit Suisse Turkey was the first brokerage house in Turkey to support Futures DMA and remains a pioneer in the market.

The Investment Banking Department in Turkey delivers a full range of investment banking services to institutional clients across a variety of industries. The on-the-ground team has a strong track record in mergers and acquisitions, equity capital market and debt capital market transactions, and has received a number of industry awards.
Our Fixed Income team provides Credit Suisse’s institutional clients in Turkey with a full suite of Fixed Income products. Our clients include all of Turkey’s major banks, asset managers, corporates and some quasi-sovereign entities. Products range from vanilla flow products to lightly structured derivatives and solutions, as well as highly structured, bespoke financing and liability solutions. Credit Suisse’s strong local presence and the momentum in flow business have established the Bank as a top three player with target clients.

The Equity team provides institutional clients across all geographies with access to Turkish equities and equity derivatives, including ISE-listed stocks, ADRs, GDRs, listed futures, index swaps, individual stock swaps, custom indices, stock and index options.
Our Turkish Equities team has achieved a Top 2 ranking in cash equities and derivatives over the past three years2, particularly due to our strong execution platform and ability to leverage our global sales force. Our research team covers 25 Turkish stocks, which represent 79% of the total ISE100 market capitalization.
