Credit Suisse Partners with Girls Who Code for Summer Immersion Program to Help Build Pipeline of Future Female Engineers

Number of student participants this year nearly doubles from inaugural class at the bank

Credit Suisse today announced that it is once again partnering with Girls Who Code, the international non-profit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology, as a corporate partner for its signature Summer Immersion Program.

Credit Suisse will be hosting a two-week virtual program that allows girls to build the skills, community and professional network they need to make an impact and prepare for a career in technology. Participants in the program will include rising 10th, 11th and 12th grade girls, who will be introduced to computer science and careers in technology.

Michele Travis, Managing Director in the Group Chief Information Office (CIO) said, "After the success of our inaugural Summer Immersion Program last year, Credit Suisse is pleased to be teaming up with Girls Who Code again to host another class of promising young women to provide them with the skills and opportunities for success in technology. We are proud to help shape and nurture the future careers of female engineers and to welcome the next generation of technologists, who will make an impact on their communities."

Credit Suisse's 2021 Summer Immersion Program runs from August 2 through August 13, and the bank will virtually host 60 students during the duration of the program, nearly double the number of students from last year. This year the bank will organize a number of mentoring sessions on topics including careers in technology, tips on resume writing, and how to build a personal brand. Program participants will also hear from senior leaders at Credit Suisse across technology and the Investment Bank to learn about cyber security as well as careers outside of IT that utilize technology.
