Credit Suisse announces a series of appointments to boost its A-share Research coverage

Credit Suisse announced today a series of new appointments to boost its China A-share Research capabilities, ensuring it provides the most comprehensive and highest quality A-share research product.

The six new hires will significantly strengthen its market strategy and sector research of the China A-share market. The new hires include: Li Chen, Managing Director, China A-share strategist; Sam Li, head of China Technology analyst; Charles Zhou, Diversified Financials analyst; Anson Huang, Chinese Banks analyst, David Hao, China Media analyst; and Kyna Wong, China Technology analyst.

Commenting on the new appointments, Nicole Yuen, Vice Chairman Greater China and Head of Greater China Equities said: “Credit Suisse is committed to expanding our research coverage and building the bench of talent and infrastructure to provide a best-in-class research product for the A-share market.  With the gradual opening up of the A-share market, particularly after the launch of Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect, we have seen, and no doubt will continue to see, significant growth in investor interests. With the mainland stock market still at a nascent stage of development, the key for Credit Suisse is to provide our clients with quality research which can help them navigate this important market.   To that end, we will continue to invest in building out our capabilities.  This demonstrates our long term strategy to build a strong onshore equities franchise in China.”

Ernest Fong, Managing Director and Director of Asia Equity Research said: “China is the world’s second largest economy and the A-share market has now overtaken Japan to be the #2 stock market by market capitalisation.  China’s domestic market will become increasingly important to global equity investors.  It is therefore critical that we are able to provide the most comprehensive and highest quality research coverage.  Credit Suisse aims to further expand its China Equity Research to cover 300 China A-share stocks by the end of 2016.  Combining our Equity Research coverage and proprietary analytical platform HOLT LensTM, which includes more than 1,100 A-share companies, Credit Suisse provides the most comprehensive research coverage on China A-share markets among international banks.”
