Ken Brinsden
Managing Director and CEO, Pilbara Minerals

Ken Brinsden is Managing Director and CEO of Pilbara Minerals, an ASX-listed pure-play lithium company which owns 100% of the world’s largest, independent hard-rock lithium operations. Mr. Brinsden joined Pilbara Minerals as CEO in January 2016 and was later appointed Managing Director in May 2016. He is a mining engineer with over 25 years of experience in surface and underground mining operations, where he has held roles in mine management, production, as well as in brown-field and green-field development across a range of commodities.
Mr. Brinsden has led the development of Pilbara Minerals’ Pilgangoora Lithium-Tantalum project, which has progressed from its first drill hole to concentrate exports in under four years. On the back of its exponential growth, Pilbara Minerals is currently one of the world’s leading lithium raw materials suppliers with a portfolio of growth options to execute in order to meet the rising demand for raw materials for batteries.
Prior to Pilbara Minerals, he spent a decade at Atlas Iron Limited, which he joined in May 2006 as Operations Manager before becoming COO and Chief Development Officer. He was later appointed Managing Director and his last held position was as non-executive Director.
Mr. Brinsden is a member of the London Metal Exchange’s Lithium Committee.
Mr. Brinsden has a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from the Western Australian School of Mines, Curtin University.
