After years of weakness, the euro is once again gaining strength. Oliver Adler explains why.

Just a few years ago there was a concern that euro would collapse. That threat now seems to have receded, with the currency having appreciated significantly in value over the past year. Institutions have also taken multiple steps to put the European Monetary Union on more solid ground.
