After a long wait, our golf partner, Sergio Garcia finally claimed his first major title in golf. Just on the brink of giving up hope of ever winning at the Augusta Masters, his ability to overcome and deal with setbacks in a positive way demonstrates what is possible when you put your mind to it.

Anyone who plays golf knows that it is not an easy game – it takes patience and experience to turn setbacks into comebacks. Sergio, who has had his share of unfortunate breaks over the past years, stated after his Masters win that he was most proud of the change in attitude and determination that allowed him to win despite setbacks.

In his 19th Masters appearance, Sergio Garcia played in and won one of the most thrilling play-offs a major championship has seen. With this legendary win, he not only secured the famous green jacket but he also earned his participation in the Masters for life.

The accolades did not stop after he had won the green jacket. At the end of October, Sergio became the 53rd player to be awarded Honorary Life Membership of the European Tour and secured his 14th European Tour win at the Andalucía Valderrama Masters hosted by the Sergio García Foundation.

And Sergio is not resting on his laurels; he still sees room for improvement in his game. How does he continue to motivate himself and deal with those setbacks that have sometimes haunted time and again? To hear what he has to say, have a look at our first of five short videos in the mini-series “60 seconds with Sergio Garcia,” which you can find here and on our social media channels.
