Credit Suisse announces Head of Philippines Coverage in Investment Banking & Capital Markets

Credit Suisse announces the appointment of Mark Uy as Head of Philippines Coverage in its Asia Pacific Investment Banking & Capital Markets (IBCM) department.

Based in Manila, Mr. Uy will be responsible for driving the growth of Credit Suisse's IBCM business in the Philippines. This includes broadening the bank's relationships with entrepreneurs and corporate clients in the market as well as delivering the full range of Credit Suisse's integrated investment banking and wealth management offering, in line with its ambition to be the Bank for Entrepreneurs in Asia Pacific.

He will report to Rehan Anwer and Pankaj Goel, Credit Suisse's co-heads of IBCM, Southeast Asia and Frontier Markets.

Mr. Uy brings over 12 years of investment banking experience to Credit Suisse. Previously, he was an Executive Director with J.P. Morgan, holding various senior investment banking roles in their US, Philippines and Singapore offices. During his career, Mark has established a track record in client coverage as well as origination and execution of M&A and capital markets transactions across equity, equity-linked and debt. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Management Engineering from Ateneo de Manila University.

Most recently, Credit Suisse acted as Joint Bookrunner on the US$285 million (post-greenshoe) listing of AllHome Corp, the largest Philippines IPO since 2016.

The bank has also led a number of international bond transactions in the Philippines in 2019 year to date, including the US$1.5 billion 10-year and EUR 750 million 8-year global notes offerings for the Republic of the Philippines, marking Credit Suisse's 19th and 20th bond offerings led for this issuer since 2004; a US$300 million 5-year senior green bond and a CHF100 million 2-year senior green bond for the Bank of the Philippine Islands, the latter being the first ever public CHF benchmark bond out of the Philippines and the first ever rated Philippine green bond in the international capital markets; and the US$500 million of senior perpetual capital securities and US$300 million tap for SMC Global Power Holdings Corp, one of the largest power companies in the Philippines.
