Credit Suisse Appoints Nicole Yuen as Head of Greater China Equities

Credit Suisse today announced that Nicole Yuen (袁淑琴) has joined as a Managing Director and Head of Greater China Equities (大中華區證券業務主管), based in Hong Kong. Ms Yuen will assume overall responsibility for all the Bank’s existing China Equities business.

She will spearhead the build out of our onshore capabilities as opportunities develop. Credit Suisse’s integrated one bank strategy and China’s rapidly expanding financial markets should combine uniquely to provide us with growth opportunities in the coming years.”

Ms Yuen joins Credit Suisse from UBS where she held various leadership positions during her 18-year tenure, with her last position as Head of China Equities which she had held since 2003. She is widely credited for her pioneering efforts in internationalizing the China capital markets. In addition, she has in the past served on the China Securities Regulatory Commission’s listing committee responsible for reviewing A-share listings, and to date remains the only foreign investment banker appointed to the panel. During her career in corporate finance, she has also led many high profile IPOs in Hong Kong and China.

Ms Yuen graduated from the Harvard Law School and has been a partner at Clifford Chance in Hong Kong, having also worked with them in the UK and the Netherlands. Prior to that, she worked at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in New York.
