Supply Management Values

Credit Suisse values integrity in all our dealings. The Supply Management core values form the basis on which we build the relationships with our supplier community. Learn more about the contribution you can make towards achieving a successful business relationship with us.

Integrity

Ethical conduct, specifically integrity, fairness, and professionalism as well as risk mitigation are essential to the success of our bank and form the basis to take on responsibilities as a corporate citizen. This approach requires that we proactively identify, manage and avoid conflicts of interest, comply with all laws, regulations and policies and focus on mitigating and managing any business risk to protect our clients, brand and reputation. Credit Suisse expects our suppliers to uphold the same standards.

Relationship

We see business relations like investments – they need to be managed and developed properly, as well as constantly and diligently controlled in order to generate the desired mutual value add. Our decision to award business and enter into collaborative relationships with suppliers is taken in a fair and professional manner, driven by our Supply Management values. We believe in open dialog. The more we know about a supplier’s business model, specific risks, the drivers and ideas behind products and services, the better we can mutually profit from doing business together.

Value for Money

When sourcing goods and services, we take into account the mix of cost, quality, use of resource, fitness for purpose, timeliness, and convenience, all of which constitute optimum value. Total costs over the complete lifecycle of goods and services, potential risks involved, track record and available market choices are seen as determining factors. We appreciate clear structure of goods and services with competitive and transparent pricing, without hidden, unexpected or avoidable costs.

Quality

Performance is evaluated regularly to ensure quality delivery. We have high expectations and strive for excellence by following the principle “do it right the first time”, which our suppliers are to do as well by providing the best solution taking into account the Supply Management values. An obligation to excellence in service is not only what we look for in our Supply Management team consisting of professionals with profound category knowledge but also in our suppliers who support us in fulfilling our pledge to our clients.

Innovation

Ongoing innovation is a must – for the bank itself and for its purchased products and services. We look to our suppliers to introduce cutting edge solutions. The tradition of encouraging new ideas, discussing options and supporting change has been honoured by Credit Suisse for over 150 years, and will continue to be upheld in the future.

Sustainability

Social and environmental responsibility is at the heart of our long-term success; whether as part of our business decisions or when managing our resources and infrastructure. We have integrated international agreements such as the UN Global Compact into our corporate policy to align our business with the universal principles in areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. Our management system for the business functions Supply Management and Corporate Real Estate and Services is certified according to ISO 14001:2004. The same strong commitment to sustainability is an expected core value of our suppliers and we want to see them exceeding the minimum requirements by local law.

Efficiency

Efficient and accurate execution is an important component of how we want to conduct business and the way we want to collaborate with our suppliers. Our sourcing and procurement processes enable just that; subject to the complexity of the sourcing initiative and where reasonable, we utilize standardized IT-enabled processes (e.g. e-RFx, e-Auctions) and our standard contracts are proven and time-tested.
