Financial Services Compensation Scheme

Credit Suisse (UK) Limited is a member of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (‘FSCS’). The FSCS can pay compensation to customers if a bank is unable to meet its financial obligations. Most customers – including most individuals and small businesses – are covered by the scheme.

Compensation limits apply depending on the type of claim:

Deposits

The maximum level of compensation is £85,000 per person per firm. Deposits in all currencies are treated the same.

Investments

The maximum level of compensation is £50,000 per person per firm.

Mortgage advice and arranging

The maximum level of compensation is £50,000 per person per firm.

Long-term insurance (e.g. pensions and life assurance)

The maximum level of compensation is 90% of the claim with no upper limit.

The FSCS is not applicable to deposits held outside the UK.
