Social Commitments in Asia Pacific

A key element of the Asia Pacific philanthropic activities is funding for disadvantaged children through education in lesser developed countries. Innovative solutions for school enrolment and capacity are also supported.

Overview

The focus of Asia Pacific Corporate Citizenship is on providing support for disadvantaged children's education. Investments have been made in school construction and in providing professional skills development training for teachers. Continued support is also provided for a number of university scholars. Orphans benefit from Credit Suisse support through programs that directly target their host institutions. The region also approved its first strategic partnership with the World Food Programme in 2007. Support is provided for a Food for Education program in Indonesia which will ensure that thousands of students receive enough daily nutrition to attend school and is aimed at significantly increasing enrolment and attendance rates.
