Client Foundations

Our client foundations offer private clients solutions for philanthropic giving.

The charitable foundations Accentus, Empiris and Symphasis provide straightforward solutions for Credit Suisse clients who wish to use part of their wealth to benefit social causes or help protect the environment. Depending on the client’s objectives, donations are either allocated to a general fund or assigned to a specially created sub-foundation (called a fund). All three foundations are politically and religiously unaffiliated. Since their launch at the beginning of the millenium, almost 1000 projects have been supported. As Credit Suisse assumes the foundations’ administration and management costs, the lion’s share of the donations goes directly toward helping worthwhile causes.

Advantages of an own fund

  1. Donors are spared the expense of setting up their own foundation, and in particular the time-intensive business of managing it.
  2. Long-term management of the fund and compliance with the will of the donor are guaranteed by the umbrella foundation.
  3. The donor's fund is a customized solution similar to an own foundation.
  4. The umbrella foundations have their own office and experienced staff.
  5. The Board of Trustees consists of prominent representatives from various specialist fields.
  6. Thanks to the support from Credit Suisse, the money donated to the fund can be used for the charitable purpose designated by the donor to the greatest possible extent.
  7. A committee of the Board of Trustees monitors the procedure for selecting the supported projects.
