Credit Suisse Hires Michael D. Ryan as Head of Securities for the Investment Banking Division
New York, February 5, 2007 We are pleased to announce that Michael D. Ryan is joining Credit Suisse to be Head of Securities for the Investment Banking Division. In this new role, Mr. Ryan will be responsible for Credit Suisse's global securities businesses and will serve as a member of the Investment Banking Division Management Committee. Mr. Ryan will be joining Credit Suisse mid-year and will be based in New York, where he will report to Brady Dougan, CEO of the Investment Banking Division for Credit Suisse.
Mr. Ryan will work closely with Jim Healy and Tony Ehinger, Heads of Fixed Income and Equities, respectively, to capitalize on the strong securities platforms Credit Suisse has built.
"Mike will enhance our outstanding management team as we continue to grow our securities businesses aggressively, consistent with our strategy," said Mr. Dougan. "I intend to work closely with Mike, Jim, and Tony in taking these businesses to the next level."
Mr. Ryan joins Credit Suisse after a distinguished 18-year career at Goldman, Sachs and Company. As a partner and managing director, Mr. Ryan has been global co-head of the equity products group with responsibility for all client-related products and services in the equities division at Goldman Sachs. Prior to assuming this role, Mr. Ryan held various positions at Goldman, including co-head of global equity derivatives and, prior to that, he worked in the equity capital markets, fixed income and investment banking divisions. Mr. Ryan has worked in Goldman's New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo offices. He also served as a member of that firm's fixed income and equity division joint operating committee and the partnership committee.
