Credit Suisse Group sells Winterthur
to AXA
Credit Suisse Group announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement for the sale of Winterthur Swiss Insurance Company, its insurance business, to AXA for a cash consideration of CHF 12.3 billion. AXA will acquire 100% of Winterthur. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions and is expected to close around year-end 2006. The media conference will be transmitted live via webcast and by telephone.
