Prime Cash
Our Prime Cash team provides cash management advice and services to internal Prime Services constituents and select clients. For instance, we provide cash re-investment services, on a separate account basis, to the Credit Suisse NY Managed Lending business.
The team includes both highly experienced research analysts and portfolio managers. Our four research analysts average 16 years of experience between them and provide dedicated coverage of the asset-backed, industrial and financial sectors. Our two portfolio managers have an average of 15 years of experience managing low duration and liquidity portfolios.
While cash is the one asset class common to all investors, it is often taken for granted or mistaken as a potential source of incremental yield. It is our core belief that cash management needs to focus on capital preservation and liquidity. Operating in a well-controlled environment which focuses on minimizing risks, experienced portfolio managers can deliver yields which are competitive but commensurate with a low risk profile. We believe that investors should manage their risk in a consistent manner and the yield should be a secondary consideration. While it can be entirely reasonable to employ a low duration fixed income strategy which pursues more yield, such an approach should not be mistaken for cash management.
