Robert T. Stewart
Rob Stewart is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse and Head of Investment Banking in Australia, based in Melbourne.
Rob originally joined Credit Suisse in 1990 and re-joined in 1999 following four years at Merrill Lynch where he was a Managing Director in the Mergers and Acquisitions group. Prior to that he worked at Ernst and Whinney (a predecessor to Ernst and Young) for four years.
Rob has worked on a broad range of financing and strategic advisory assignments including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, hostile acquisitions, takeover responses, initial public offerings (IPOs), equity placements and debt financings. This experience has encompassed more than 50 mergers and acquisition transactions, 7 IPOs and more than 35 securities offerings.
Rob's clients have included: Alcoa; BHP Billiton; BlueScope Steel; Burns Philp; Carter Holt Harvey; Cisco Systems; Computer Sciences Corporation; Ericsson; Foster's Group; Goodman Fielder; International Paper; Motorola; Newcrest Mining; Rinker; Telstra; TXU and Woodside.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
