SMS Security Procedure

Security Procedure: Now You Can Use Your Cell Phone!

As a Direct Net user, this solution enables you to log into online banking and confirm payments that have been identified as being potentially fraudulent (i.e. by validating payment transactions). This is done by sending an SMS code to your cell phone. The SecurID is no longer used.

How Will Clients Be Notified of the SMS Security Procedure?

You will automatically receive a letter about it from Credit Suisse AG. Once the letters have been dispatched, the secure registration process for the SMS security procedure will begin.

Who Can Use the SMS Security Procedure?

All private clients with a Swiss cell phone number (076, 077, 078, 079).

Three Good Reasons to Register for the New Procedure

  1. Because the client will receive an SMS code on his or her cell phone to verify any potentially suspicious payments ("Transaction Signing").
  2. Because the SMS security procedure is a state-of-the-art security solution for online banking that has proven its excellence in other banks.
  3. Because people almost always carry their cell phones with them, unlike the SecurID.

Your Relationship Manager Uses It Too!

A survey of Credit Suisse relationship managers who have been using the new SMS security procedure since January 2010 showed that they are firmly convinced of its benefits: 82% of them said that they were very satisfied with it, 17% expressed "satisfaction" and only 1% said they were dissatisfied. This new SMS security procedure gives users more independence, because they no longer need to remember to carry their SecurID with them. And the new transaction signing feature offers added protection.
