FAQs on Direct Net

Second Identification

How long does it take for the new SecurID to be displayed?

You receive a new SecurID number every minute.

What happens if I enter the wrong SecurID number, or one that's already been used?

If you enter an incorrect or invalid SecurID number, you will receive an error message and will be prompted once more to enter a new, valid SecurID number. Under no circumstances can a SecurID number be used twice. Once the number has been successfully entered you will be taken directly to the next screen, as originally planned. None of the data already entered will
be lost.

How does the new security function react to a Direct Net session time-out (logout from Direct Net)?

During each Direct Net session, a second SecurID number must be entered for the first payment transaction performed. Once logged out, the user must log on again to start a new Direct Net session. If a new payment transaction is to be executed, the user will again be prompted to enter a second SecurID number.

I already have my own anti-virus software, firewall and the latest operating system. Why do I still need this new security function on top of all that?

The use of anti-virus software and a firewall in combination with the latest operating system, means your PC is protected. Make sure that the programs you use are always up-to-date. This will help prevent computer viruses and Trojan horses infecting your PC and make a considerable contribution to secure online banking, among other factors.
Introducing this additional security measure (second identification) allows us to further increase your online banking security and protect you against fraudulent payment transactions (e.g. Phishing).

Where can I obtain information on online security?

You can find helpful information and the rules of conduct with the link below:

As I have set the DTA transfer screen as my start screen, do I have to wait during the second identification step until the SecurID number changes?

Request a second SecurID. By entering the SecurID number from your second SecurID, you will be able to access your file transfer function without delay.

Can I use numbers from different SecurIDs devices?

You can now link a second SecurID to your Direct Net contract. Please contact the Direct Net Hotline or the Electronic Banking Desk to order a second SecurID.

How does it work with a contract group? Do I have to enter a second SecurID number for each contract?

No. The second identification is required per Direct Net session irrespective of the number of Direct Net contracts that are linked.

How is second identification handled in the case of joint signing?

Regardless of the number of existing Direct Net signing arrangements, a second SecurID number must be entered for the first payment transaction of each Direct Net session.

I use an offline client (PayMaker, Mammut, NetBanking Credit Suisse Edition) for my online banking. Can I continue to use this software?

Credit Suisse continues to support the current version of PayMaker and NetBanking Credit Suisse Edition. PayMaker versions earlier than v.16.0 and mammut PRIVATE Client have to be updated. The updates are available at www.c-channel.ch or www.mammut-soft.ch.

Who should I contact if I encounter problems with the new function?

If you have questions or problems please contact the Direct Net Hotline or the Electronic Banking Desk.
