Your first day as a student is fast approaching, or maybe you are already in the middle of your studies.This site gives you an overview of the financing options available to you as a student.
Study costs and living expenses vary according to the type of course you pursue and the place of study. Study fees can amount to between CHF 500 and CHF 2,000 per term depending on the canton and the institution. As well as these fees, you must also take account of a fixed monthly amount for living costs.

Scholarships Different in Each Canton
You are entitled to state support if you are a Swiss citizen and your parents cannot meet the cost of your education. The canton in which your parents are resident for tax purposes is responsible for your scholarship. The contributions that are made vary between cantons. Education Allowances from Public and Private Sources
The Confederation and private foundations also grant education and training allowances. You can find further information in German, French and Italian at the Federal Directory of Foundations (German only) .
Reduction or Waiver of Study Fees
At many institutes of higher education it is possible to apply for a reduction or waiver of study fees. You can obtain information from the institute's website or its secretariat.
Part-Time Jobs: Earn Yourself Money and Work Experience at the Same Time
Many institutes of higher education offer job exchanges for student employment. There are also specialist providers such as www.semestra.ch (German only) and www.etudiants.ch (French only) for example. Among other things, you can find a job database that includes internships, temporary and fixed-term jobs.
