Investment Approach
Global Infrastructure Partners ("GIP") is an infrastructure investment fund founded by Credit Suisse, General Electric Company and an experienced, independent senior management team who collectively have more than 150 years of cumulative experience advising on, structuring, financing, investing in and managing infrastructure assets in both developed and emerging market countries. GIP seeks to capitalize on the significant growing worldwide demand for investment in infrastructure assets and the inability of traditional financing sources to meet this demand. GIP targets investments in infrastructure and infrastructure-related assets within the energy, transportation and water/waste sectors. GIP generally targets control-oriented equity and equity-related investments (and selected investments in debt securities) in operating assets and securities of companies that own, control, operate, manage or support infrastructure and infrastructure-related operating assets. The GIP team seeks to maximize the value of acquired assets by drawing upon their extensive experience and skills, as well as leveraging the expertise of Credit Suisse and General Electric, to improve the operating and financial performance of these assets.
